An ex-Stoughton police deputy chief facing discipline over his involvement with Sandra Birchmore testified she propositioned him for sex in graphic terms and repeatedly told lies.

Robert C. Devine , 53, described his interactions with Birchmore and testified she “pretty much lied about everything” as he stated his defense in secret adjudicatory proceedings in July before a hearing officer for the Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission , or POST.

Devine’s testimony was made public Thursday when POST published more than 15 hours of redacted hearing videos on the agency’s YouTube page.

“My name has been dragged through the mud for the last three years for something I didn’t do,” Devine testified on July 16. “This is about my name.”
