BELGRADE — The person accused of shooting at Belgrade police on Monday before being fatally shot himself has been identified as 37-year-old Devin Cameron Scheurn, who had pending misdemeanor and felony charges in other jurisdictions.
Scheurn, of Belgrade, was shot by an officer shortly after they responded to a report of a disturbance on Crockett Street at about 5:18 p.m. this past Monday.
"During the response, one of our officers, who was seated in his patrol car, came under heavy gunfire from the suspect," Police Chief Dustin Lensing said during a Tuesday press conference. "The officer was struck by gunfire and injured. An assisting Belgrade police officer returned fire, and the threat was incapacitated. A third officer arrived moments later and immediately began providing medical care
