HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - The Owensboro Police Department (OPD) is investigating a case involving an off-duty officer.
OPD says on October 30 at 8:13 p.m., the Daviess County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) responded to a disturbance call at the home of an Owensboro police officer. Police say Officer Christina Butler was subsequently arrested and charged with assault 4th degree (domestic violence).
An OPD spokesperson says, "The Owensboro Police Department takes the conduct of our officers very seriously whether it is on or off duty. Officer Butler has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation."
Officers with OPD say no other details will be released at this time. The DCSO, however, released more information in regard to this case.
