STATEN ISLAND, NY -- Three Staten Island organizations have joined forces to launch their first annual holiday food drive aimed at providing complete Thanksgiving meals to local families in need.

The Community Council of the 122nd Precinct, the Verrazano Kiwanis Club, and Dapper Cats Barber Shop are collaborating on the initiative, which will culminate with meal distributions the week of Thanksgiving.

Organizers are requesting donations of non-perishable food items including canned goods, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, condiments, salad dressing, sugar, sauce, gravy, cooking oils, beverages, snacks, and baking supplies.

“Every year we try to feed families on Staten Island who are less fortunate. We will be supplying them with a full Thanksgiving meal,” said Chris,
