NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Metro Nashville Public Schools reports that five guns have been detected by the weapon detection systems installed earlier this year across the district.

Of those guns detected, two were found in the 2025-26 school year.

The latest incident involved a 16-year-old being found with a stolen gun at James Lawson High School on Monday, November 3.
