The Colorado High School Activities Association released the state volleyball regional seeds on Monday.
In Class 5A, Fruita Monument will compete in Region 1 as the 24 seed. No. 1 Fossil Ridge (21-2) is the host team, and No. 36 Rocky Mountain (11-12) is the third team.
According to CHSAA, teams were “selected straight using the CHSAA Selection & Seeding Index published at the end of the regular season.”
Teams were also moved a maximum of one spot to try to alleviate league opponent matchups between the top two seeds in the region only, according to CHSAA.
There are 12 regions with three teams in each. Teams seeded No. 1 through 12 will host regionals.
All regional champions will advance to the state tournament Nov. 13-15 at the Denver Coliseum.
Coming off a great regular season, Mon
