PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The search is still on for a hunter who went missing in the Mount Hood National Forest about 20 miles outside of Estacada.

Crews are looking for 51-year-old Devon Dobek, an experienced hunter who went missing Friday, Oct. 31. Dobek was originally expected to return that night, but messaged a friend that he would be returning early after getting a deer. He never arrived.

His truck was found near the Fish Creek Trailhead near SE Highway 224 and Road 54, but there was no sign of him.

Clackamas County Search and Rescue then began looking for Dobek around 10:30 p.m. on Friday. Officials say they also heard gunshots at various times throughout the night, but have not pinpointed their location. • Search-and-rescue teams look for missing hunter, Devon Dobek, Nov. 2, 20
