Senator Rick Scott announced the reintroduction of the American Shores Protection Act today, a legislative effort aimed at codifying the moratorium on oil drilling off Florida’s Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Coasts.
The bill seeks to make permanent the existing ban, initially established by President Trump through an executive order that runs through 2032.
