PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — It's been more than 10 years since two men were separately gunned down in the capital city on the same night.
Dimitri Perry, 23, was shot and killed on July 6, 2015, while on Nebraska Street in Providence. His mother Annette Perry will never forget that day, since she was on the phone with her son when the gunfire erupted. Perry had been driving and noticed he was being pursued. He eventually got out of his car to run.
"I could tell he was walking fast because like [his voice] was muffled," Annette recalled. "Then I heard one shot ... and he was like, 'They're shooting at me!'"
"He kept running and there was another shot and then the last one, that was the one that hit him," she continued. "There were three [gunshots]."
Perry was rushed to Rhode Island Hospita
