DALLAS — While the future of food assistance payments plays out in federal court, the impact of the benefits battle will be felt at home.
In the latest development in the ongoing saga surrounding the government shutdown and the future of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits , also referred to as food stamps, the Trump Administration told a federal court it would send partial SNAP payments this month. The decision came days after a couple of federal judges ordered the government to keep SNAP benefits flowing to some 42 million Americans, including 3.5 million Texans.
