CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Carbondale police officers responded to a report of gunshots near the 400 block of West Cherry Street on Nov. 2.

Officers arrived at 12:25 a.m. and reported seeing several individuals running from the area.

During their investigation, officers said they found two discarded firearms and spent shell casings.

Brandon Moore, 18 of Oklahoma, was arrested and cited with resisting and obstructing a peace officer.

Lanika White, 39 of Carbondale, was arrested on a Jackson County warrant for driving with a suspended license.

Both Moore and White were taken to the Jackson County Jail.

No injuries were reported, but police said gunfire caused damage to an abandoned house.

The investigation is active, and police encourage anyone with information to contact them.
