Multnomah County is taking applications from Portland parents looking for tuition-free preschool .
Preschool for All is adding 240 new seats, bringing the total to over 3,800 this year, according to a press release from the county. Those applications opened Monday, and there are no income eligibility requirements to apply.
“We are thrilled to add hundreds of additional seats with both new and trusted partners, bringing us closer to our goal of universal preschool by 2030,” interim Preschool and Early Learning Division Director Rachel Pearl said.
Parents interested in applying can do so on the Preschool for All website .
The county aims to open 11,000 tuition-free preschool seats by 2030. The county funds those seats through a 1.5% on any income county residents make over $125,000.
