LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — It's the calm before the storm that is Election Day, and in Lackawanna County , Director of Elections Beth Hopkins says she and her staff are well-prepared .
"We've been pretty busy with mailing and absentee voting this election. It seems to have been kind of on the uptick since 2021 in that municipal election," said Hopkins.
So far, Hopkins says more than 19,000 mail-in ballots have been sent in.
A number that's seen steady growth over the last few years.
"In 2021, a little over 13,000 and 2023, a little over 16,000, and now in 2025, a little over 19,000," said Hopkins. "So certainly that number keeps growing every municipal cycle throughout Lackawanna County."
Voters have until 8 p.m. tomorrow to submit their mail-in or absentee ballots to their county
