Groveland Township residents will see DTE Energy crews working to fix and upgrade their systems in the coming years.

At a township meeting on Oct. 21, Supervisor Kevin Scramlin announced DTE will invest around $10 million to make improvements throughout the township. Work has already begun and is expected to take up to three years to complete.

They plan to rebuild portions of the electric grid, including replacing poles, transformers and wires, and adding new equipment to the electric substation that powers the township.

Scramlin said the substation, which includes two transformers, is antiquated and in need of updating.

“That substation is used by every household in the township,” he said. “That will be upgraded to six transformers.”
