MADD Calgary launches holiday campaign with story of tragic loss of Kananaskis man a year before his wedding

Sandy and Rod Jaeger were supposed to be dancing at their son’s wedding this summer.

But on Monday, they stood before a crowd of first responders and reporters to warn people about the deadly consequences of impaired driving.

Their son, Cameron Jaeger, was 36 when he was struck and killed by a drunk driver in Montana just over 18 months ago. The driver, whose blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit, struck Cameron on his bicycle as he was returning from a day of mountain biking with two of his best friends, his mother said.

“Cam was lost immediately,” said his mother, Sandy Jaeger.
