DANSVILLE, N.Y. (WROC) — A Dansville woman is desperately trying to help her family get home from Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa left them stranded on the island.
Nadine Offen said her three sisters and brother-in-law traveled to Jamaica for what was supposed to be a ten-day vacation, with their return set for last Friday. But each time they’ve tried to book a flight, it’s been “cancel after cancel.”
“I don't know what else to do. I love them to death, I really do, and they have no hope. Now the hope is gone. They are just waiting for something good to happen,” Offen said tearfully.
She said her family was held in their hotel with limited food, water, poor air conditioning, and a barely flushing toilet.
