Sewer overflows occurred Monday in the Shoal Creek area during work on the city sewer system, Joplin Public Works Director Dan Johnson said.
In response to questions from the Globe after a resident had contacted the newspaper asking about the cause of what appeared to be a sewer overflow in the McIndoe Park area, Johnson said that maintenance work had been scheduled on the Shoal Creek interceptor sewer in that area. Johnson said a switch-over valve on a new pressure main was scheduled to be removed Monday morning for the maintenance work. ×
