Canadian municipalities are pushing the federal government for a doubling of the Canada Community Building Fund and new, dedicated infrastructure programs to meet housing targets and address community needs, says a Manitoba director on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) board.
Joe Masi, who is also a Portage la Prairie City Councillor , recently returned from FCM board meetings and advocacy days in Ottawa, where he and colleagues met with nearly 100 Members of Parliament, ministers, and senators to outline municipal priorities ahead of the federal budget.
