STATEWIDE — Confusion continues for Mainers as Anthem and Northern Light Health send out conflicting statements about their ongoing contract dispute.

What’s certain is that the two agencies missed the November 1 deadline to reach a new agreement — and Mainers are already feeling the effects.

As of Saturday, November 1, Anthem said Northern Light’s non-hospital facilities and healthcare professionals are officially out of network for employer and individual plans. Medicare members, however, will remain in network through the end of December.

In a statement Monday, Anthem said negotiations are still ongoing but that a new contract has not yet been reached. The company also said Northern Light has refused to sign an extension that would have kept services in network while talks continue.
