MEADE COUNTY, Ky. —

A woman was found shot to death in Meade County, and police say the suspect wanted in the shooting has been found dead.

Kentucky State Police said they were called to Simpson Lane in the Ekron community around 1 p.m. Monday.

Officers found a woman who had been shot at least once. She died at the scene.

KSP said they were looking for a suspect named Scott Hornback. The 45-year-old from Irvington left the scene before police arrived.

"Definitely makes me be more alert of where I'm at, where I'm going, who I'm around," said Jasmine Miller, lives in Meade County.

"Somebody that has these kinds of thoughts and is dangerous like this can be anywhere running rampant in a small town like this. It's imperative for people to keep their heads on a swivel," said Thomas Owens,
