He led a team from last to first in the ultra-tough American League East, a feat that automatically vaulted the Blue Jays’ John Schneider into the conversation for AL manager of the year.
That he did it by winning over a veteran clubhouse and improving communications with a team that often got bogged down in that area only added to his accomplishment.
And as a result, two days after losing Game 7 of the the World Series in heart-wrenching fashion, Schneider was named a finalist for the award in voting conducted by the Baseball Writers Association of America.
Schneider is looking to become just the second Jays manager to win the award, joining Bobby Cox, who captured the honour in 1985.
With so much going right for the Jays in 2025, Schneider certainly deserves some credit. In the off
