RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Police continue to search for the suspect in a hit-and-run that took place early Sunday morning at the intersection of Meadowood Lane and Riggins Ct. It is an area unlikely to have a lot of people around late at night over the weekend, making it an ideal spot for illegal sideshows.
“The sideshows, they tend to move to different parts around the city,” said Officer Chris Johnson of the Reno Police Department. “They’ll start in one location and then they’ll move to another location, whether it’s a big open lot, an intersection, or somebody’s private property.”
Sideshows are when crowds of people watch while cars spin donuts, something that is often coordinated through Instagram stories under the handle @775sideshows.
Johnson says sideshows were a constant issue in 2022
