LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -A former Lansing meteorologist will compete in one of the world’s most challenging and demanding race competitions, the Great World Race.
Jake Dunne will compete in seven marathons on all seven continents in seven days.
Last year, Dunne suffered a stroke. During his recovery, he made the decision to compete in the World Race.
“Tomorrow is not promised and just follow your dreams, follow your goals,” Dunne said. “You know, they’re easier to reach than you think. And I know that sounds strange, but your goals are easier to reach if you just try hard.”
The first marathon takes place in Antarctica. Then Dunne will travel to Cape Town, South Africa, followed by Perth, Australia, and then to Istanbul, Turkey, where he will run one marathon in Asia and one in Europe.
