Multiple people were injured in a head-on crash on northbound Interstate 15 south of Cedar City on Monday morning, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.

The collision, which reportedly happened at approximately 8:15 a.m. near mile marker 54, involved a dark gray GMC Yukon SUV and a metallic tan Ford Transit passenger van.

Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Clay Allred said the Yukon was traveling south on I-15 when the driver, a 19-year-old woman, experienced a “medical incident.”

“The driver lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the median and entered the northbound lanes, striking a Ford Transit van head-on,” Allred told Cedar City News.
