CHARLESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - A southeast Missouri mother, torn apart by grief and guilt, is trying to come to terms with the death of one of her sons at the hands of another.
“I don’t even want to call him his brother because I don’t think he has the privilege,” Shawna Murray said. “You can fight with your siblings, you can fist fight, but to shoot him in cold blood?”
Just three months ago 25-year-old Bryan Campbell pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the April 2024 shooting death of his older brother Christopher Vinson.
Campbell is serving a 30-year prison sentence.
Their mother, Shawna Murray, said she will spend the rest of her life trying to make sense of the tragedy.
