BEAUMONT, Texas — Former Jefferson County Clerk Carolyn LeBlanc Guidry has announced her bid to return to the office she held for 16 years, citing restored health, extensive experience and a commitment to rebuilding public trust in elections.

Guidry, who first took office in 2005 and served through 2021, said her decision comes after a successful kidney transplant last year and growing concerns about public confidence in election integrity.

“For 16 years, I worked to make the County Clerk’s Office one the public could trust,” Guidry said. “We modernized the office, served with compassion, and prioritized fairness. Now that I’ve regained my health, I know I have more to give.”
