ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) - Rocky Mount police say they found nearly 9 pounds of marijuana after searching the home of a man accused of attempted murder.

Tony Avent Jr., 30, of Rocky Mount, was charged with the following:

Two counts of attempted first-degree murder

Firearm by a felon

Assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury

Discharging a firearm from within an enclosure to insight fear

Discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle

Possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana

Possession of marijuana

Maintaining a dwelling for the storage of marijuana
