Itanagar, Nov 3: In a stirring display of courage and determination, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Gajraj Corps, Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh flagged off the Mount Kangto (7,042 m / 23,103 ft) Expedition from a forward base of Gajraj Corps on Monday.
The expedition, comprising 18 bravehearts of the Indian Army, embarks on a formidable journey to summit one of the most challenging and least scaled peaks of the Eastern Himalayas — Mount Kangto, which was last successfully scaled in 1930.
The team will traverse treacherous icy ridges, glacial crests, and extreme altitudes, exemplifying the grit, discipline, and unwavering determination that characterize the Indian Army.
