LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A “bear-icade” situation in Larimer County was safely resolved on October 25, thanks to deputies.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said a caller reported that a bear had broken into his car and was trapped inside.
The first deputy responded to the scene to confirm that a bear was inside the vehicle and said the bear did not seem “very thrilled about the situation.” Backup was then called in to assist.
Instead of using bear spray, deputies said they kept pepper balls ready just in case the situation escalated.
Using a handle release mechanism, deputies were able to open the door, setting the bear free.
Deputies said this situation is a good reminder to always lock your cars.
