GREENVILLE — Four restaurants in South Carolina have reached what to many is considered the pinnacle of the fine dining industry: earning a Michelin star .
Two decades after the Michelin Guide first brought its prestigious star rating program to the United States, the esteemed restaurant guide unveiled its inaugural American South guide at a Nov. 3 ceremony at the Peace Center in Greenville.
The new, first-of-its-kind regional guide covers restaurants from South Carolina, as well as Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee. It also incorporates the pre-existing Atlanta Guide, which debuted in 2023. Restaurants in each destination were eligible for one, two or three stars.
Emeril’s in New Orleans received the American South guide’s lone two-star designation. Eigh
