ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A family is grieving one day after a young mother of three was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Carrollton.

26-year-old Lareon Brown, whose family called her “Lay Lay,” was described as loveable and intelligent with a “million-dollar smile.”

“Lay Lay was the backbone to her family,” Brown’s sister Netorian Crawford said.

On Saturday, just a few hours before her death, her entire family was celebrating her daughter, Zynova’s, birthday.

“Anywhere she was at she made everybody smile. She’s joyful, cheerful, she’s just a down to earth person,” Crawford said.

Brown’s smile was wiped away around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning when she was shot and killed near Sixth Street in Carrollton.
