The Supreme Court will today hear a series of petitions challenging the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, and demanding a complete ban on online gambling and betting platforms operating under the guise of e-sports and social games.
A bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and KV Viswanathan had on Monday sought a response from the Centre on the matter. The court said the plea, filed by advocate Virag Gupta on behalf of the petitioners, will be heard along with other pending petitions against the new gaming law.
