"A Thousand Years" singer Christina Perri is ending her marriage after nearly eight years.

The 39-year-old singer/songwriter on Nov. 3 filed a petition to divorce her husband, Paul Costabile, in Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to filings obtained by USA TODAY.

The "Jar of Hearts" songstress said the two have been separated as of the filing day of Nov. 3 and described the reason for the split as irreconcilable differences.

She asked the court to award joint physical and legal custody for their daughters, Carmella, 7, and Pixie, 3. In terms of finances, Perri requested that the judge ensure their property and award spousal support pursuant to the prenuptial agreement dated to their wedding on Dec. 11, 2017.

USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Perri and Costabile for comment.

TMZ was first to report the news.

Perri and Costabile welcomed Pixie in October 2022, nearly two years after Perri experienced a third-trimester pregnancy loss. Earlier in 2020, she'd shared with her fans that she had miscarried at 11 weeks.

Perri made a splash in 2011 with her first album, "lovestrong," which included fan-favorite tracks "Jar of Hearts" and "Arms."

After several studio albums and collections of lullabies, she's solidified herself as a multiplatinum recording artist and creator of one of the most popular songs to come out of the multibillion dollar "Twilight" franchise.

Speaking with USA TODAY in October for an oral history of the "Twilight" movies, Perri gave "all the credit" to "Twilight" fans for making "A Thousand Years" the "swan song" of the saga.

"I didn't even expect to get chosen, let alone be in the first 'Breaking Dawn' soundtrack. (As) the second credits song, no one was still in the theater when that came on," she said. "And I didn't care. I was so excited to be part of it. ... I was the biggest fan kid in the whole world, having my dream come true in front of everybody."
