LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – No. 24 Kentucky women’s basketball got off to a rocky start versus Morehead State in the opening game of the 2025-26 season, with the Eagles hitting their first five shots from the field. However, the Wildcats settled in and took a 43-27 lead at the half, and later pulled away for a 75-59 win.

The Wildcats were led by Tonie Morgan who finished with 16 points, alongside the duo of Jordan Obi and Clara Strack who both carded double-doubles with 15 points and 15 rebounds a piece. For Strack, it was her 17th double-double of her Kentucky career.

The Wildcats are back in action Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at Historic Memorial Coliseum taking on Monmouth.
