The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 9:56 p.m. on Monday for strong thunderstorms until 10:45 p.m. for Northern Wayne and Susquehanna County.
The storms could bring wind gusts of up to 50 mph and pea-sized hail (0.25 inches).
"At 9:56 p.m., Doppler radar tracked strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Bainbridge to near Greater Binghamton Airport. Movement was southeast at 40 mph," says the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."
Locations impacted by the alert include Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott, Kirkwood, Conklin, Maine, Sanford, Susquehanna, Nanticoke and Deposit.
