CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Clemson City Council voted on a project on Monday designed to get rid of traffic deaths in the city.
The goal of Project Zero is to have no traffic deaths or serious injuries by 2040.
The city is partnering with Clemson University for the project. It will also continue to hold regular meetings to help reach its goal by 2040.
Clemson Mayor Robert Halfacre said, “We do have time, but we also look at it as: we want to do this as quickly as possible, but this again will put an importance in the initiative to make sure that our streets are safe and keep our community safe going forward.”
The council unanimously approved Project Zero.
