BUFFALO — The Washington Capitals didn’t go four games without a win in the entirety of the 2024-25 season. The last time the Capitals had a skid this long, it was the spring of 2024, when they went 0-4-2 from March 28 to April 7.
Twelve games into the 2025-26 campaign, Washington is 0-3-1 in its past four games and 6-5-1 overall. A 4-3 shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night represented steps forward in some areas — the Capitals hadn’t scored more than one goal since Oct. 24, five games ago — but also put Washington’s warts, including a scuffling power play and some individuals struggling to find their games, on full display.
