MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - Investigators identified human remains found in Mississippi County and closed a 35-year-old cold case Monday.
Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced Nov. 3 that an unidentified body on the Mississippi Riverbank was confirmed to be Charles Benjamin Rhoades.
On June 23, 1990, the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office reported finding a man’s body. At the time, investigators could not identify the body due to the “stage of decomposition.”
By June 18, 2024, Griffin and his team, along with the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office, reopened the case.
“This case was one of the first cold cases we took on,” Griffin said in the release. “My office contacted the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office and offered to provide assistance and new state-of-the-art
