Manitoba's newest RCMP detachment officially opened its doors in the town of Niverville on Monday, and officials say it’s a welcome addition to the growing community.
The new detachment, located at 329A Bronstone Drive in Niverville, officially opened to the public at 8 a.m. on Monday.
According to the town, it will be regularly staffed by four RCMP officers, as well as one public service employee. While it will be considered an independent station, it will fall under the jurisdiction of the St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP detachment.
The town previously received policing services through the St-Pierre-Jolys detachment, and Niverville town council said that detachment will also continue to serve the community “as required.”
