FRONT ROYAL — When the U.S. Marine Corps celebrates its 250th birthday on Monday, the Front Royal community is invited to the party.

Hosted by TransForm Development and On Cue Sports Bar & Grill, Front Royal’s third annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball is a chance for veterans and civilians alike to pay tribute to the contributions of the military branch.

The event is set for 6 to 10 p.m. at On Cue Sports on Main Street.

Rob MacDougall, event coordinator and a 24-year veteran of the Marine Corps, said that Marines all over the world celebrate the Corps’ birthday each year — some in groups and formal balls, others privately.

“Whether you’re on active duty or you’ve left the service, we always take a moment to celebrate the birthday and toast the Marine Corps,” he said.
