Political notebook: Democrats want state to put more into food relief

Rain: Shortly before Gov. Kevin Stitt and the Legislature’s Republican leadership said Friday they would authorize up to $7 million to food banks from an emergency management fund, legislative Democrats called for tapping the state’s $4 billion in reserves, including a $1.2 billion Rainy Day Fund balance, for up to $300 million in food aid.
