Big Bear's celebrity bald eagle couple Jackie and Shadow have been spotted making regular visits to their lakeside nest ahead of their usual breeding season.

After leaving the massive nest largely vacant since the successful fledging of sisters eaglet Sunny and Gizmo in June, the parents have been spotted making repeated returns to their family home over the past week, raising anticipation among eagle-eyed viewers of the 24-hour nest cam operated by the nonprofit organization Friends of Big Bear Valley .

Jackie and Shadow, now approaching 14 and 12 years old, respectively, appeared "healthy and ready" when making a stop by their 6-foot-wide nest situated more than 140 feet high in a Jeffrey pine on Sunday, Oct. 26, according to FOBBV Executive Director Sandy Steers.
