SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The South Bend Community School Corporation board unanimously approved a proposed 2026 budget Monday night that allocates over $132 million to the education fund for teacher salaries and school supplies.
The budget represents the highest amount in district history and increases the education fund by over $11 million. District CFO Ahnaf Tahmid called the spending plan “an aggressive investment in teachers.”
“We are being aggressive, we are being proactive and we are being progressive,” Tahmid said. “All in favor of our students and teachers, so that we can really maximize our investment on education and build a better future.”
