The new Volkswagen Tiguan and Tayron were only just launched in Australia in May and September respectively, but that hasn't stopped the German brand announcing a number of model year 2026 (MY26) upgrades just a handful of months later.

Chief among them is the addition of Volkswagen Turning Assistant 2.0, which is now standard across the Tiguan mid-size SUV range and the related Tayron large SUV that replaced the Tiguan Allspace.

Turning Assistant 2.0 enhances collision avoidance capability by being able to detect and react to oncoming traffic that is about to turn towards the vehicle, in addition to detecting and braking when the driver turns across oncoming traffic that's driving straight ahead (as before).
