New York City (NYC) Democrat socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani vowed that if elected to be the next mayor of the city, he would fight against President Donald Trump and his administration in response to threats to stop federal funding from going to the city if Mamdani wins.

Mamdani’s comments came after Trump said , during an interview with CBS News’s 60 Minutes , that it would “be hard” for him to give a lot of money to New York. Trump added that “if you have a communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there.”
