No one knew what Ghost, an eighteen-month-old Husky, had gone through before he was found wandering the streets and brought to Carson Animal Shelter in California.
From the moment he arrived, it was clear that Ghost was overwhelmed by fear and anxiety. Shelter staff and volunteers tried everything they could to comfort him and help him adjust, but nothing seemed to reach him.
As the days passed, Ghost’s condition worsened. He would retreat into the corners of his kennel, avoiding eye contact and refusing to engage with anyone around him.
A Dog Too Scared To Eat
Early on, staff noticed that Ghost barely touched his food. During daylight hours, he wouldn’t eat at all, only sneaking a few bites late at night when the shelter was quiet and dark.
