Dorothy Richetta passed away peacefully on Oct. 22, 2025, at Aspirus hospital with her sister and some members of the parish at her side.

She was born at Laurium Memorial hospital on Aug. 11, 1938, to Peter and Mary Spreitzer (Rabuze), graduated from Sacred Heart school on June 1958, and loved cheerleading and watching basketball.

Shortly after graduation she left for Adrian, Michigan, where she entered the Dominican Order and was ordained in 1963. She received her teaching degree and taught in several Catholic schools in Chicago and Munising. She returned home after 10 years.

She then taught first grade at Calumet public school for over 30 years. She loved her years in the classroom and teaching the children. She was fun, loving, generous, and she simply loved life.
