Lionsgate has signed a big deal with Millennium Media, which gives them control of two of Hollywood’s biggest action franchises: Rambo and The Expendables. The new deal, announced on Monday, November 3, gives the studio the rights to develop and produce new movies and TV shows under the Expendables franchise. With the deal locked, Lionsgate has also acquired worldwide distribution rights for the upcoming Rambo movie.
Titled John Rambo, the sixth film in the Rambo franchise will be directed by Jalmari Helander, best known for the action thriller, Sisu. Earlier this year, reports surfaced stating that the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo was being considered to lead the film. Now, Lionsgate has confirmed that the actor is in final negotiations to play young John Rambo.
