The easiest thing to say about the Toronto Blue Jays is, run it back. You can’t rewind the greatest Game 7 to end a World Series , or the what-just-happened Game 6, or the 18-inning odyssey in Game 3. You can’t live in that World Series forever. At some point, after a run that truly moved people in the city and the country, you have to let it go.
Toronto won’t, of course. The 2019 Raptors won and the 2025 Blue Jays lost and one time Jose Bautista flipped a bat, and most of the rest of the past 30 years of sports in this city is trying to forget just how badly the Leafs have let you down. These Jays will live on in the imagination of everyone who lived and died with that playoff run. It was a ride.
