Netflix has revealed plans for a film adaptation of the cherished book series by Kay Thompson and Hilary Knight.

The live-action Eloise project, set within the iconic Plaza Hotel, is being developed by Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Rising star Mae Schenk has been cast in the lead role, appearing alongside Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds .

Hannah Minghella, Head of Feature Animation and Family Film at Netflix , said: "Eloise has been beloved for generations, from when she was first published in the 1950s through to today, when no family trip to New York City is complete without a stop at The Plaza.
